You can get a K6-2 500 with a heatsink/fan for $45 plus $9.95
shipping from http://www.accessmicro.com. I've had some
success with them in the past.

I've bought from them before, and they're pretty good. They
also have a VERY nice recent run on PC133 SDRAM.... I just
picked up a CAS2 128MB PC133 SDRAM for $45 last month. By
the looks of things, they've gotten even cheaper, at $42
plus shipping, but the shipping is probably not that much
when bought together.

In general, I'm very pleased with the speed and performance,
although I'm currently having a problem with my MB (cropped
up suddenly at Thanksgiving, but it seems to be going away
as I've upgraded and tweaked the system). My MB is the
FIC VIA-503+, but I had to flash it to a <ahem> less normal
BIOS to support an ATA-66 HD I added. A different MB I
didn't have to flash is rock solid stability.

Just notice it would require low 1.8-2.2volts core depending on the batch.
I upgraded my DFI 430tx motherboard with K6-III 333mhz and had to figure out
the unofficial switch setting to push it to 333 and I got it, otherwise if I
go by the book it would go up to 300mhz and the lowest settings is 2.2v and
matches perfectly with cpu requirement but I leave my bus speed at 66 with
multiple of 5. CPU costed me $29.95 in Fry's.
