There are two known problems with the kernel shipped with RH7.0 and have
been discussed frequently on this list. First is the compiler issue (refer
to the gotchas
http://www.redhat.com/support/docs/gotchas/7.0/gotchas-7-6.html#ss6.1 ).
Second is there is some SMP stuff that wasn't cleaned up for the
uniprocessor kernel. Back up your .config file (if you made one) and run
'make mrproper'. Restore your .config then continue your kernel build.
