I dunno.  7.0 was already pretty much 2.4.0 ready, and the kernel
upgrade shouldn't break things, except maybe system utilities (which
would have upgraded versions included) and REALLY poorly written apps.

Seems like the kernel doesn't have nearly as much to do with
compatibility as glibc and gcc, etc...
