crontab -l

During an upgrade from RedHat 5.2 to 7.0 I noticed something wrong with
cron. It doesn't work anymore.
When I do a crontab -l it tells me
no crontab for root.
The cron is still where I left it in /var/spool/cron/root
Has anyone come accross this problem and can help me fix it?
