Okay, now if I can find the proper RPMs for the missing resources and:
Log output from /var/log/XFree86.0.log edited:
EE Failed to load module "glcore" (module does not exist, 0)
Failed to load module "glx" (module does not exist, 0)
Failed to load module "tdfx" (module does not exist, 0)
So it seems to me that I do NOT have a complete installation. I will
search through rpmfind.net and see if I can find the necessary RPMs and
install them. It seems that Xconfigurator does write to XF86Config-4
file but I had to try the --replacefiles command to rpm. [I am beginning
to learn rpm from the command line this way at least - always relied on
gnorpm before].
If there is a better way - let me know otherwise when I get home from
work in about 10-11 hours I'll give this a try again.
