The DNS and Bind book is very good. I will probably get flamed big time and I hope
this does not cause
any problems but I have found tat this is one area that linuxconf does very well in.
I use it to
manage about 25 machines right now and adding more all the time to our lan with three
different subnets
and to subdomain namespaces as well. All reverse lookup entries are created
automatically. I have not
set up a secondary yet though so I cannot attest to how well that works. For the ease
of adding hosts
I cannot imagine anything better.
I don't use linuxconf for everything, but it does do DNS pretty well.
That is not to say that you don't need to read the book though, It is very readable
and fulll of good
information.
