Have you been doing anything as root? Directories don't normally change
by themselves. And only root can change the directories listed. Unless
you know what caused the problems, you may be better off reformatting
and re-installing. And make sure you have all the latest updates.
The problem can be fixed without re-installing, but if you haven't done
anything to change things, you are safer considering the system cracked.
