Well folks it must be just about time for a new Red Hat release... I've
been on the list off and on for about four years now and it seems to me
that everytime the list starts to focus on minutae, nit-pick and back
bite we are nearing a new release...
I postulate two reasons for this rather unremarkable behavior...
#1: All of the serious "how do I?", "what happened to?" and "it
didn't used to work that way" questions/comments/issues have been
resolved and we are now down to pointing people at FAQ's and archive
entries for solutions and resolving issues for total newbies and folks
running older releases and other distributions.
#2: Because of #1 people are bored and cranky.
So... Red Hat... will it be 7.1 or 8.0? :-)
(Note to Red Hat personnel: the question was rhetorical... I know you
don't announce releases in advance :-)
