I did a PCMCIA install off a Toshiba Satellite of a similar model. Funny,
the CDROM they sent with the machine just DIDN'T WORK! <grumble, grumble>
Two months later... <more grumbling>

Anyway, using the PCMCIA image, I had the NFS and FTP install options. It
takes forever though. It could be that your card needs a special driver
since it's a hybrid.

BTW, if you boot Winblow$ (heaven forbid!) and copy the RedHat directory off
the cd via FTP from another computer and into a local directory "C:\REDHAT",
the install goes SO much faster! And without the hassle of the pcmcia
kernel. Just a thought.

Subject: Network install via PCMCIA?

Hi all,

Finally getting around to installing Red Hat 6.2 Linux on my Toshiba 610CT
notebook. Only problem is I don't have a CD drive for the machine (they
never had one) so I thought I could just boot off the PCMCIA image and do a
network install.

The only install source option I get is "Hard Drive". Does this mean it
didn't detect my PCMCIA network card properly?

Any ideas? The card is a TDK Global Networker 3410 combination modem/lan
card.
