1) No, the su uses the PATH of the original user. Modify .bash_profile to
include what you want for path.

Dear List,
Question One:
When you su to root, is your path variable supposed to change to reflect
this? If it is supposed to change but mine does not, how do I fix this?
Question Two:
In my .bash_profile file in my home directory I can alter my path
settings, but some part of this path is inherited from some other file.
Where is this file and can I edit it?
