Hi, 1) I am seeing messages in /var/log/messages about modprobe not being to load sound-slot-1 which is the second sound card. Why is it looking for a second sound card? I just put alias sound-slot-1 off in /etc/modules.conf. I guess this should take of it and the second message related to sound about sound-service-1-0. 2) I have a problem with when su to root with Emacs. It does not want to load my configuration. I had a RH6.2 system running nicely with this setup. The difference is that I was not using gnome. Just plain old fvwm-1.r23 (not sure about the version no). In this case, I have a fresh install of RH6.2 with all relevant updates applied. I am using gnome with enlightenment. This very annoying as I never start an X session for root.
