If you need it, yes.

You just said you got it working. Remember, though, that if you are
compiling your own kernel via tarball (not from RPM), then the
kernel-headers move was prolly not wise. There are certain things that you
will want to do a --nodeps on... but only do this once you are sure the
files are on yer disk by some non-rpm means ;)

Well.. You have your compiler, you have the libraries and headers which go
along with it, you have the kernel headers which some stuff is built
against, etc.
