Hi Y'all,
I have a small home network that I am working with. 1 system runs RH 5.2
and is my "production system". I have another that is running RH7.0 that
fails to allow a remote login from either the 5.2 box or from my "new"
system that is also running RH7.0. I have been able to rlogin to
the the "new" system using both the other two. I am able to rlogin from/to
the new system to/from my production system. I am unable to rlogin to the
one that won't allow rlogins from the others. Note this is the only
service I am trying at the present. The rlogin config file does reside on
the problem system and chkconfig shows rlogin to be up, xinetd in the
/var/log/messages indicates that rlogin is running correctly as well.
I get the message in /var/log/secure on the target machine:
Mar. 17 20:57:44 mateo xinetd[507]: FAIL: login libwrap from <local ip>
on either from machine I get the message:
rlogin: read: Connectin reset by peer.
rlogin: connection closed.
Ideas???? HELP!!!
Thanks,
Jay
