This is some sort of named thing that gnome runs, it's not the name server
or the BIND program itself. I saw it all the time when I was running gnome
as well and couldn't get it to turn off as I didn't need it. Maybe if you
search the gnome startup files you can find it and delete it or something.
Might check with gnome people or get someone to chime in and explain why
it's there just in case it *is* needed for gnoem for some reason.
