Not so. I have:

# rpm -q mozilla
mozilla-0.9.5-0
# rpm -q galeon
galeon-0.12.7-2
# rpm -q GConf
GConf-1.0.4-ximian.1

The secret is to get the tarball for galeon and rpmbuild it. As long as
you have the requirements listed on the page met (and that usually boils
down to mozilla being current), it will build. It has for me for several
releases now.

You use binary rpms, you are shackled to the libraries and stuff on the
system of the one who built it. The exception, of course, being those
actually built into the source as requirements.
