OK- I can do both linux single and linux rescue.  I can see the file
/etc/passwd, but can't edit it
  vi won't run.
I get bash#
then I try to run vi and get a
sh: vi: command not found

I've been up all nioght at this and need to at the very least get some files
off this computer before I go home...
