this is odd...
I shutdown completely....then restarted the machine...
when i seen the screen with the redhat blue screen giving the selections
for booting
it gave the following two selections:

linux
dos

so I chose "dos"  when I did this...
it changed to a black screen and at the top said 

"loading dos"   ...but thats all that happened...it seemed to just
freeze
so i shutdown again.
why is this...if i edited fstab ...then lilo.conf?
I don't understand
