... especially hwclock ... the very latest version runs (at least as

As far as I can see:
The latest hwclock sets my Linux (system)clock automatically at
boot-up time according to the drift factor of my Hardware clock ...

I was fed up with possible dependency problems for a new
util-linux.rpm (hwclock is part of util-linux.rpm) and tried this:

I loaded down the latest hwclock tarball (hwclock-2.14.tgz), build it
on Redhat 6.2 and simply replaced there the old hwclock excutable and
the old 'man hwclock' from the util-linux.rpm with the newly built
corresponding parts (check the hwclock README) ... have a good *new*
hwclock now in an relatively old util-linux.rpm .. hwclock's not
perfect, but it seems to be much better now here than the previous
one.

This hwclock install perhaps is not very standard, but it seems to
work not badly :)
