I just got a note from Cablevision, through whom I purchase the @home cable modem service, warning that because of EXCITE@HOME's bankruptcy, @home subscribers (i.e. me) are at risk that the service may not continue. They recommend switching to their Optimum Online service as a hedge.
Aside from the annoyance of having to change email address, Optimum Online is a DHCP service, whereas @home uses fixed IP. Has anyone made this ISP switch from @home to Optimum Online and, if so, had any notable experiences, good, bad or otherwise? Thanks. John -- John P.
