I'm trying to setup a quotas on a RH7.1 box with a software RAID5 100GB IDE hard drive, I'll call this one server A, but I'm getting some strange behavior. I set quotas up on two different machines, both are RH7.1 with quota3.01-pre9-0.7.1 installed. Server B is a P-120 with a 2GB hard drive and no RAID. On Server B every thing appears to work correctly. If I set a user's quota to 1024 that user gets an error if he puts more than 1M in this home drive. On Server A I set a user to have a limit of 51200(50M) and I am able to put 110M+ in the home drive. Also on server A when I run 'quota -u trehm' the blocks used changes from 5000 blocks to 12 blocks after deleting a 2M file. Am I doing something wrong? Another difference in setups is Server B had quotas setup before using up2date to update all of the RPMS, on server A I updated RPMS before setting up quotas. Could that be my problem?
