I normally put all the rpms I want to upgrade in one directory, with the exception of any kernel rpms. I move the kernel upgrade rpm to a subdirectory. I can then.. cd upgradedirectory rpm -ivh kernelupdate/kernel*.rpm to install the updated kernel package. rpm -Fvh *.rpm to update all the rpms in the directory. If any of the packages are new installs, rather than updates, you'll need to use rpm -ivh.
