Generally, 32bits is only used for video processors where handling 32 bits 
is faster than 24 bits.  In either bit depth, only 24 bits are used for 
actual color handling.  On video cards where 24 bits is *not* slower than 
32, 24 bpp has no advantage, and is frequently just not supported.

I don't know for certain, but could be the case with the NVidia cards...
