I did it about 2 year ago when I came to sound card problem, Yamaha sound 
card.  A guy on the list sent me a file to copy it to module.conf.  It worked.

at root  /
#  /lib/modules/` uname -r` /misc/snd-card-*
Bash :  /lib/modules/ uname -r : No such file or directory

# cd /misc
# ls -l
showing it is only an empty directory
