Hi Tim,

Windows 2000 __DOES__ support dynamicDNS in the standard way. I would
however recommend using the latest version of BIND (9.2) because there have
been several bug fixes and enhancments to allow it to work better with W2K
DNS.

Of course the O'Reilly DNS and BIND book is your best source, although it is
only up to date with BIND 8. So far all of the BIND 8 configurations I've
used in BIND 9 have been completely compatible with BIND 8.

Cheers,

Rob

Subject: faq pointers?

So here is the scene. I about to build (yet another) RH server.
This one will be responsible for DNS and DHCP. The clients are mostly
a vast windows2K network, which make an awfull lof of use of the
scary Active Directory Services. I'm not sure of the relationship
of ADS and DHCP and I am really hoping there is none.
So what I am looking for is a FAQ that is good for setting up a server
to do dynamicDNS and DHCP where the clients are in a Win2K environment.
Anyone know of a good one?

Thanks,
-tm
