Thanks Duane, that page looks pretty good. Will check try it out
tomorrow. I dont remember what I compiled in the kernel, but am pretty
sure did everything i needed to get cd burning. the output of dmesg,
however is quite odd, thought I'd send u that:

VFS: Disk change detected on device ide1(22,0)

and it repeats that over and over. ?

I compiled everything into the kernel. Here is my modules.conf Sorry
for the length of this post...

alias parport_lowlevel parport_pc
alias eth0 natsemi
alias sound-slot-0 es1371
post-install sound-slot-0 /bin/aumix-minimal -f /etc/.aumixrc -L
>/dev/null 2>&1 || :
pre-remove sound-slot-0 /bin/aumix-minimal -f /etc/.aumixrc -S
>/dev/null 2>&1 || :
alias usb-controller usb-uhci

nothing about cd burners in there, I see.

sorry newbie question (well ive been using it for three years but just
started really using it and not just playing with it about 6 months ago,
recompiled first kernel a month ago) but how i do edit symbolic links?
Where would "cdrom" be?

Thanks,
Brandon
