i configured both my previous 7500 (1400x1050) and current 8100
(1600x1200) just by hunting around on the net until i fell across
an XF86Config file someone else had written.  i've never done this
thru Xconfigurator.  i recall that trying it that way with my 7500
was a recipe for frustration.
