Thanks for this. I was actually reading the redhat 7.2 customization guide -
the DNS bit, and it was at the end of that section that there is a note
about modifying /etc/host.conf. I assumed that it (the file) was still
relevant, hence the question; perhaps the docs are just a bit out of date :-)
