Other possibilities: the site uses Macromedia Flash, rather than Java.
Fairly stable, but maybe your X server isn't? What video card and sound
card do you use? What X server is /etc/X11/X a symlink to?

Regarding your inquiry about Netscape 6: Use mozilla. Get the latest
released rpm packages from www.mozilla.org. Most of the keyboard
shortcuts are described in the menus. To highlight the URL box, use
Ctrl+L, just like old versions of Netscape. The ALT prefix is not used
as it was only really common to Motif, and contrary to everything else.
Integration with KDE and GNOME requires common keybindings.

You can read about the current keybindings here:
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/ui/accessibility/mozkeyintro.html
You can learn how to change the key accelerators here:
http://www.mozilla.org/unix/customizing.html#keys

The "customizing" page is good for learning about some of the
preferences which do not yet have a place in the preferences window.
