Let me describe my LAN :

macs1 macs2 macs3 macs4

             maci1        maci2      maci3           maci4         maci5        maci6      maci7      maci8

All machines in the maci* are dual-boot RH Linux/ Win 9x machines.

2 machines in the macs* are single boot Win9x machines and macs3 and macs4 are

 dual-boot RH Linux/ Win 9x machines.

I configured the eth0 interface for macs4 recently and installed in.telnetd,in.ftpd , xinetd, ftp and telnet , and you can telnet (and ftp) into macs4 and out of macs4.

BUT my problem is I cannot telnet (or ftp) into macs4 from maci8.

Assuming I had configured the interface eth0 up  on maci8.  OK on maci8 ,

I do not have in.ftpd and in.telnetd , but that only means that nobody can telnet (or ftp)

in to maci8.

Do I need to implement routing here ?

Regards,

Shyam.
