Hi, Just looking for comments on a question I have.

I need to setup a single point authentication for my LAN/WAN. To be able
to change a password for a user at a single point and have that user's
permissions be accessible across several dozen servers. These servers
are both local LAN and over CIPE'ed VPN (DSL/T1 Lines throughout US).

Some of the Linux boxes are Samba servers serving Win2k machines
files/print shares, it is also possible to have those workstations use
the same authentication mechanism? In other words for a Win2k user to
login to the Samba server (acting as a PDC in that local Domain) using
the same single point authentication that the collection of Linux based
servers use?

I have read +/-'s about both LDAP and Kerberos authentication, and I am
wondering which has better real world application benefits for this
particular situation.

Thanks!

Regards,
Steven
