How did you partition? Did you use diskdruid or fdisk (or alike) program of LVM? Probably the problem is that the filesystem doesn't support larger then 1 TB LVM should be able to address over 1 TB, check this: http://tech.sistina.com/Pages/faq.php?action=view&ID=39.
