I haven't rebooted in a while so after a good backup I rebooted one of
my 6.0 (with all updates) boxes. To my dismay I found that only the
first couple (of about 10) secondary ethernet interfaces came up.

When I go to /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts and manually start them
by:
ifup ifcfg-eth0:7

The interface(s) come up apparantly OK. I see no errors in
/var/log/messages or via dmesg on reboot. The ifcfg-eth0:x files all
have ONBOOT=yes, and these files have gone unchanged for many, many
months with plenty of reboots.

The only thing that has been done to the box as far as configs go is
that I installed ssh which required a couple of other dependent
pacakges including initscripts and setup, - maybe one of them hosed
it.

Can someone suggest how I can tell why these interfaces failed to come
up automatically?

Thanks,
Scott
