If terminal and mozilla have the same startup times there is a _serious_ problem. If you want to make your GUI more responsive, renice the X server. Find the PID of /etc/X11/X and run "renice -20 THEPID". See if that helps. Personally, I have a very responsive GNOME desktop on a PII-200Mhz, although it has 128M of RAM. I don't run Mozilla, but I do run Galeon, which uses Mozilla as it's rendering engine. I use AbiWord for WP, Gnumeric for my spreadsheet, and DocBook for my "real" documents :) Jon > > > > While booting the system starts sendmail most of the time... any clues > > how to get rid of that problem ? > > Just issue the following command: > > /sbin/chkconfig sendmail off > > Sendmail will no longer start at boot time. > > - -- > - -Michael > > pgp key: http://www.tuxfan.homeip.net:8080/gpgkey.txt > Red Hat Linux 7.2 in 8M of RAM: http://www.rule-project.org/ > - -- > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- > Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) > Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org > > iEYEARECAAYFAj0GnhwACgkQn/07WoAb/StHWACfa0p13ad8VRd3kFeZFxU28ZKI > CSoAoLhSt0MBF3Ifh7ZDFJmwtN0fJMKw > =hRsx > -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- > > > > _______________________________________________ > Redhat-list mailing list > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list > _______________________________________________ Redhat-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
