Hi Trevor, you do not have to install the icons manually. All you need to do 
is download the icons and put them in your home dirrectory, open up control 
center, expand the "look and feel" tree, go to icons, and on the first tab at 
the bottom of the screen navigate to where you downoad the .tar file and 
select it and apply it. There all done.
