Greetings,
    I would recommend that you either add your user to the slocate group
(/etc/group) or make the permissions on slocate.db 644.  I am unsure of how
safe either of these are in a security point of view.  Your issue is that
your user (not root or in the slocate group) is unable to access slocate.db
to read from it, because it doesnąt have read permissions (the last 3 items
in the perms).
