i'm desperately and unsuccessfully trying to install a RH73 on a machine
with an ADAPTEC 2944UW scsi controler
install hangs at "loading AIC-7xxx driver"
it looks like redhat's driver version doesn't support this card, thought it
works with others (BTW mandrake 8.x installs fine on the same machine)
for what i saw gathering info on the net, it seems to be an old problem (rh
70, 71, 72 and now 73)
i could try to solve the problem by myself (find a new code and compile the
module), but i don't know how to manage an installation from CDs with a new
module. i heard about driver diskettes that could be inserted at the very
beginning of the installation process, but i didn't find any how-to nor tip
related to this
so i'd be very glad if someone could tell me how to make this "driver
diskette" and how to use it
