I am sorry I didn't look it up in the list archives. I will have a look at them tonight. There are no messages concerning this device in the /var/log/messages. Even tried using : ifconfig eth0 up & ifconfig eth0 tulip If I use ifconfig, I am just getting basic information about lo (loop back 127.0.0.1 and so on) and not eth0. >From what you are mentioning or from the archive lists, it appears that it's not >going to be easy to get this thing going with Netgear network card.
