Hello List, I am trying to install RedHat 7.2 on an HP Pavilion xt395 (almost the same as ze5000, ze5170, etc.; 2.2GHz P4, I Gig RAM, 40Gig HD ) After two hours only a third of a standard notebook workstation installation is complete, and it gradually gets slower and slower.
I would like to know if anybody has successfully installed RedHat on a similar system, or had similar problems on the 2.2GHz notebooks. About a year ago l installed redhat in dual boot mode on a compaq Presario 2700 notebook. The installation was a lot faster, and since then it has run without any problems. I do not understand the problem. I would like to know if there is a problem with this particular HP notebook, or with the 2.2GHz Pentium systems in gereral.
