Mike Burger is correct, however, here's a little more detail... 1. You need to register you new domain name as a domain name server through Network Solutions (aka Verisign) or some other name manager. You must have a static DNS.
2. You will have to provide primary and secondary name server names to be the DNS for your new domain. This is a bit tricky because you'll be specifying something like the the following... New Domain = newdomain.com Primary DNS = dns1.newdomain.com Secondary DNS = dns2.newdomain.com 3. It is recommended that the primary and secondary DNS be installed on two physically separate servers. 4. Then you need to setup the host records within DNS. If you're using Bind. Not sure of the version, I have been away from DNS for a couple of years. Anyway, you should look at the documentation for the DNS server that you intend to use. I can provide DNS record examples if you need them. 5. My experience is that it is easier to have someone else host the DNS for you unless you intend on becoming your own ISP, ASP, or whatever.
