Hey there, Actually, Red Hat (and other distros) come with a "utility" FIPS that will allow you to "shrink" a partition and it is FREE... JUST BE SURE to check out the "instructions" before attempting or you might DESTROY the partition(s) !!! here's a place to start... http://www.igd.fhg.de/~aschaefe/fips/

Please let me know if this is the wrong list to post this question to. I'm attempting to make a Rescue image to boot from the network (nfs or tftp). I can start with the stock Red Hat 7.2 rescue image and add packages via rpm. But I'm unsure if I can retrive the new root image from the network. The Install and Custom guides on the RH site seem to say that it is possible. But I can't find any examples or requirements for it to work. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'm building this for backup recovery purposes. We have a number of servers that I would like to be able to do a "bare-metal" recovery via amanda with. I have all the required services running (or can set them up easily) dhcpd, nfs, dns, tftp, etc.... If you need more info please let me know. thanks, chrisj --__--__-- Message: 9 From: "Ricardo J.
