You probably need a special driver for your FC cards. I have the Emulex LP7000e FC cards and can run SCSI and IP over them. There are two kernel modules, one for SCSI, the other for IP. I just load the module and then ifconfig the fibre channel network interface, lpfn0.
The starting point is probably the supplier of the FC cards. -----Original Message----- From: Matthew Melvin [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: 06 September 2002 03:32 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: tcp/ip over fiber channel Just on the off chance... anyone know anything about IP over FC and is able to point me at some resources? I havn't really been able to find out much about it beyond 'you can do ip over fc' and nothing at all about how a linux box might go about using its HBA as a network interface. Anyone?
