Earlier this summer I noticed that RH's errata pages
listed only the most recent RPM's for a given package.
For example, if you wanted to update the kernel on RH 7.1,
you had to download 2.4.9-34. The entry for 2.4.9-31 is
listed as a "missing package" on the errata page.

Are archives available somewhere to download the package
version that we want (which is the way it used to be)?
This is important to us because downloading the most recent
RPM's might break our Config Mmgt for our in-house development.
We don't want to have to follow a huge dependency trail by having
to download the most recent package all the time. Sure, it can
"protect some people from themselves", but it's a royal pain in
the butt for some of the rest of us.

 Thanks.
