given that (as far as i can tell) programs like "cdrecord" and
"cdparanoia" access the ATAPI cd drive through the SCSI device files
/dev/sg<something>, wouldn't it make sense to add these device files
to /etc/security/console.perms so that the single user would own
these files as well and could run those programs directly?

  i got tired of having to "su" just to run cdrecord and cdparanoia,
so i added the lines

<scsi>=/dev/sg[0-9] /dev/sg[0-9][0-9]
...
<console>  0600 <scsi>  0600 root


to the console.perms file and life is much better.

  was this an acceptable thing to do?  was there a better way?
is it worth suggesting this as an enhancement for the next
release?
