Yep. Bugzilla # 64772 and 74645. I have not actually tried the program
offered by the poster in the latter discussion.
Meanwhile, several people have reported that killing the battery applet
(in Gnome?) helps. I've been using adjtimex to compensate for the loss,
which works reasonably well.
