Hi everybody,
I'm trying to install RedHat 8.0 via ftp but I
can't make it work. The ftp server has the iso files mounted in the
directories /home/bnegrao/disc1, /home/bnegrao/disc2, /home/bnegrao/disc3,
/home/bnegrao/disc4 and /home/bnegrao/disc5. The installing computer can
logon in the ftp server but cannot retrieve the installation file.
I mounted each iso file using the following
command, for example, for the disc1 and disc2 files:
mount -o loop -t iso9660 psy*disc1* /home/bnegrao/disc1
mount -o loop -t iso9660 psy*disc2* /home/bnegrao/disc2
I tried to decipher the "Tip" bellow from the
redhat 8.0 installation guide, but I couldn't understand what they mean
with "by loopback mounting them" - surely this is not an expression for an
foreigner to decipher. Could someone explain this to me?
Thank you,
