hi I got redhat 8.0 running. I had this problem in 7.3 but fixed it and i cant remember how i did it. I have my minidisc player connected to the line in of my sound card. I can play the music from my minidisc player through my pc. But when i try and record the music from any sound program in linux it doesn't record the music coming from the minidisc, but it is playing
