I had Redhat 8.0 on my system. Recently I bought a new motherboard(ASUS
P4PE)/processor which had a Broadcom BCM5702 gigabit ethernet and a ADI
AD1980 soundcard built on the board. When i booted the machine up it
recognized the new hardware however after i booted neither the sound or
network work. For the network card, i tried to install the drivers off the
cd. After following the instructions, i got to the point to ismod <driver>
and that returned "no such device found" (same with modprobe:
driver). That part did try to probe with the correct driver, but it wasn't
working right. For the sound card, I tried to run sndconfig which found
the card but was unable to install the drivers for it. Has anyone had any
experiece with this board?
Thanks
Abe
