I can't remember offhand, but when I installed Red Hat 5.1 I had
the same problem. What I did was start the ppp activitiy, jump to xterm and
do a ps to find what files were in use by pppd. It was way down in some
net-scritps directory but ps listed it. I then had to edit the file because
Red Hats edit program basically trashed the script file. I printed out my
Caldera's chat-script file and manually edited that into the net-scritps
file used by the Red Hat and was OK. I use CIS for my PPP access. If you
also do, I'll gladly send you my net-scripts file which now works.
