use atdp instead of atdt in the modem setup strings.
maybe case sensitive, ATDT -> ATDP

I don't have a problem with dos/windows, except at work.
Oh well, can't have everything I suppose.
If the machine had had a CDROM, I had a RH boot disk handy :-)
