First of all, this isn't a ppp issue; you would probably be better off
posting this to the main redhat list.
Second, I may be wrong, but this sounds like a lilo problem. I have no
idea how you may have gotten to this point, but if you can ever get your
Linux box to boot again (rescue disk maybe?), check your /etc/lilo.conf
and re-run lilo.
But how to get your machine booting again. . . I have no idea.
Any kernels on floppies laying around?
